What a let down!

We went for the all you can eat on a Monday night. Very limited menu selection. How can a sushi restaurant NOT have a crab maki sushi roll??? The soup was the only good part of the meal. From experience I know the rice has to be prepared properly and the rice that night tasted like it was plain sticky rice out of a steamer. The salmon tasted like it wasn't fresh. I've had better quality of sushi from the grocery store.

Left Hungry, Left Angry

I went here with a friend under the enticement of "All You Can Eat" on Mondays. Never have I been more disappointed with a sushi place. When we came in, there were two other tables (which left before we did). It took almost 40 minutes to get our first order of a couple rolls! There were three people behind the food prep counter, and yet, no food seemed to be going out, and when I could see our order ready to come to our table, our waiter walked passed it SEVERAL times. Not only that, but we weren't brought everything we ordered. We were not satisfied in the least. We were in there for TWO HOURS with little to no service. NEVER AGAIN!

IF YOU LIKE THIS SUSHI YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

IF YOU LIKE GROCERY STORE QUALITY SUSHI YOU WILL LOVE OISHII!!! Never have I wanted someone to PAY ME to eat at a restaurant!!! Amature sushi, I felt like my 16 year old sister was experimenting in the kitchen. Stick to what to you know!

There is better out there ...

Such a small, cramped place. It was pretty busy when I went so it took forever regarding the services. Sushi was alright, I did have some high expectations. Prices could be better, for small rolls anyways. Didn't enjoy my experience and I don't plan on visiting again.

Definitely NOT worth the wait!

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The management and sushi chefs apparently find their time more important than the guests. We had to wait 1.5 hours for our food with practically no apologies. Terrible service

Life is too short to wait for mediocre sushi.

I visited Oishii for the first time ever today, bringing with me a friend from out-of-town. I ended up apologizing up and down for bringing her to such a place! The place was barely half-full when we went in and when we ordered. It took over an hour and 30 minutes to bring out 4 rolls for the both of us. FOUR ROLLS! When we confronted the waitress, she said, "15 more minutes. You can either leave now, or get a discount on the meal." We decided to stay, against our better judgement. It ended up being 30 more minutes. Really?! It wasn't even busy. We were in the restaurant for about 2 hours. That would be approximately 1.5 hours waiting. For that I was compensated $6 from a $50 tab just for my meal (mostly for drinks while I was waiting). You get the idea. There was A LOT of waiting. I'd also like to mention that there were people who came in AFTER us who were served BEFORE us. The food was good, but not any better than sushi restaurants elsewhere in Windsor.

WORST SERVICE EVER. Arrived at 7, and left hungry at 9:45.. They closed at 10. Service was so slow and our waitress was TERRIBLE. The staff was incredibly unfriendly, but the strange thing was that ALL of them behaved the same.. as if they were trained to be this way. Everything took too long, from being greeted by a waitress.. our table.. to drinks.. to our food.. to our bill.. Our bill ended up being $85.00.. maybe that's their ploy.. if people wait long for food they drink.. at least in our case that's what happened. hah.

This is the second time in a year and a half I've visited this place. The first time the service was way too slow.. waiting over a half hour for the food. We decided to try again since our favourite sushi place was too busy. This time, waited over 45 minutes for our food. There were only us and 2 other couples in the restaurant so there should be no reason for this. The waitress kept apologizing, and then told us that the chef was new so he was slow. That's not really an excuse, he should know what he's doing. We were in the restaurant for a total of 1 hr and 20 min. Mostly waiting. When I got my order of sushi, my boyfriend's wasn't even ready yet so I wasn't going to be rude and eat in front of him, so we waiting another 10 to 15 min for his. All in all, terrible service. Sushi was good, but not worth another visit.

Oishii was my first ever sushi experience, so...

Oishii was my first ever sushi experience, so maybe I'm biased, but I love it there! The menu is easy to understand for sushi novices like me, and there is great variety! I love the atmosphere there, especially on Thursday nights, when "rock 'n' roll sushi" is going on - the music is amazing! Some of the staff have trouble paying attention to their customers, though. It's as if they have their favourites, and find it a bother to take care of anybody else. We sometimes end up waiting fifteen minutes for service, watching the staff laughing and joking with their friends at another table. It can be frustrating, but the food is worth the wait! If you're not in a hurry, I can heartily recommend Oishii - top drawer sushi!

Went to Oishii to check out their $6 lunch. There was no lunch special at all, just the regular dinner menu. The sushi was average mall quality, nothing special, in terms of presentation or quality of ingredients (sesame seeds were stale, wasabi was just green play-doh). Service was a bit abrupt. Ended up paying more than we expected for a lunch and don't think we will return. Too bad, the place seems nicely decorated and is in a great location downtown. Would go back for drinks, but not for eating.

I ordered a California Red was served something...

I ordered a California Red was served something else and when I noticed was told that they poured a cheaper wine by mistake and complained now had to open a new bottle (of what I ordered). My dining partner was simply told "you can't have that drink" - no apology etc. as they did not carry the mix. I believe the wine was poured at Chanoso's. This is extremely poor customer service and I plan on telling whomever asks about my experience.

We generally like to sit at the bar where all the action goes down. Chef Ted knows his sushi (he's been doing it for years!). The food is fresh and vibrant, the music is quality and the overall 'feeling' is fantastic. Worth the trip to the often 'under construction' downtown core.

Waaaaaay too expensive for what you get. the...

Waaaaaay too expensive for what you get. the Volcano Roll was absolutely excellent. But I paid over $30 for this one roll and 6 little pieces of hap-hazzardly assembled average quality Sushi. (sushi guy was no expert!) You get nothing with it...unlike most other sushi places that throw in a small salad and/or a miso soup. I'll go back when someone else is paying for my meal!

I have been to Oishii's several times and at the...

I have been to Oishii's several times and at the moment it is my favourite sushi restaurant in Windsor. And I have tried them all. The food has always been extremely fresh and tasty. The portions are good and the price is amazing. The service is impecable. Friendly, knowledgeable and at your service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an affordable, delicious meal in comfortable surroundings.

This restaurant might be a little hard to find...

This restaurant might be a little hard to find, but it is well worth the trip. If you compare prices of individual pieces anywhere else, you'll find that Oishi is the most economical choice in Windsor. 100 pieces of sushi is $100 dollars which means that each piece is $1. That is a good deal in any city, especially if you go out with a group of four. The atmosphere is really unique both open at the front tables where you may have to share with other people or cozy at the back with big booths that can fit three on each side. There is always something interesting on the LCD TVs and the sushi is always done to perfection. If you want to eat sushi in a trendy relaxed environment then Oishi is the place to go.
