Best Won Ton Soup In The World
There is no way we can pass through Owen Sound and not stop at the Channing Chinese restaurant. Their won ton soup is the best we've ever tasted. The touch of sesame oil makes it incredible! I'm a Chinese food addict. I've sampled Chinese food from a zillion restaurants in my 60+ years from China Town in Toronto to Peterborough and the Channing has the best won ton soup ever! The other food was very tasty, served hot and was attractively presented. The fried rice was just so-so but we didn't have a problem with it. The next time we will just order individual dishes so we don't have to have the rice. Parking is just up the street so it's only a quick walk to the restaurant. It is a very clean restaurant with bench seats and if I can remember correctly there are also some free standing tables as well. Service is friendly and quick. Regarding the incredible won ton soup ... we order six or more to take home with us after we're eating so we can freeze it. Oh yum!

I live in waterloo and can honestly say I have never had better chinese food than at Channings. Food is always fresh, flavourful, yet not greasy. Cannot wait to return for more.

Love this place. The only sit-down Chinese...
Love this place. The only sit-down Chinese restaurant I will ever go to in Owen Sound. You can tell it is clean, friendly staff, great food, great coconut cream pie for dessert! You've gotta try this place!
