We decided to buy a 2 bedroom bungalow, specifically the model home. We discovered many yrs afterwards when the kitchen drain pipe cracked, that whoever built the basement for the model home did a double vapour barrier. It rotted out many 2x4 s. We now have a very expensive repair due to the double vapour barrier with tar paper on the cement wall and then the vapour barrier on the framing. We are disappointed and will cost a fortune to fix!
