Another gem in the Exchange. Love the casual, sleek atmosphere, and the Staff are knowledgable, efficient and very pleasant. Great beef, and a very flavourful menu in general. A nice, relaxing place where you can count on the food being consistently delicious. I like the presentation of the food, also, which adds interest to a meal.
I've been to Hermanos on three separate occasions; once, for an "Eat around the world in Winnipeg" group to sample South American fare, and twice for wine and apps with colleagues to unwind from a long week at work. Though it is on the mid- to high-end in terms of price, even those on a budget can enjoy an excellent bottle of wine from the house list, as well as some fantastic food. I've had their steak in the past, which I found tender and delicious with well-proportioned sides. By now, I think I've sampled almost every appetizer; above all, I recommend the spicy corn bread muffins as part of their bread board. They're studded with pieces of spicy chorizo and peppers, and are moist and delicious. One night, when a group gathered just for wine, I was hungry but not hungry enough for an appetizer. I asked the waitress if she wouldn't mind just serving me two of the cornbread muffins; she happily complied. When the bill arrived, they were absent from the charges! Clearly, this is a place that cares about their customers. I'll definitely be returning.
